This TUFF store is located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. TUFF is a clothing brand for boys and girls since 1993 and with this flagship store they want to expand their target group to late teens and young adults.
we used rough materials like chipwood and 'betonplex' (a wax and melamine covered plywood).
Almost all the furniture has angular and crooked shapes. These 2 sided-betonplex modules fit together in different ways even though no angle is the same. The hanging racks are made of stainless steel and are hung from the ceiling. The shelves of the floor-to-ceiling wall system are all placed crookedly.
Erik Heijbroek took care of the 8 square-meter graffiti and the black and white illustrations on the chipwood.
The mannequins hang on big custom-made techical springs wich makes them bounce up and down. "Woofer" by Sander Mulder.
The counter and the table in the back of the store are made of plywood covered with 'desktop', a warm and extremely matt material, wich contrasts with the boldness of the chipwood and betonplex.
